QUALITY ENGINEER

An excellent opportunity is available within a long-established Forging company for an enthusiastic person to join a busy Quality Department.  The successful candidate will be required to work closely with personnel at all levels, (internal and external) to produce efficient and auditable working practices and procedures and to identify areas of potential improvement.

 

The main duties of the role include: –

  • Support/represent the Company on customer and 3rd party visits, audits and assessments
  • Review Quality of all orders, projects and specifications
  • Contribute to the day to day running of the Quality function
  • Execute and report on internal and supplier product and system audits against predefined checklists, requirements and schedules
  • Interfacing with clients and dealing with customer complaints
  • Dealing with internal non-conformance and supplier quality issues
  • Collate and analyse KPI data
  • Present findings in a clear and concise manner
  • Drive QMS and product improvements and facilitate quality investigations
  • Driving improvement projects by working with Quality, Manufacturing and Support Services
  • Assist with inspection activities when required
  • Assist in providing necessary quality training to internal personnel as required

This is a full-time position based in Sheffield.  We would welcome applications from candidates with the following experience, knowledge and skill set: –

  • Proven experience of working within a similar role
  • Auditing experience within a manufacturing environment is an advantage, particularly in the Oil & Gas, Nuclear, Defence and Aerospace markets
  • Good understanding and knowledge of the statutory regulations and standards required within a Quality environment is essential
  • Working knowledge of MS Office Packages (Word, Excel, PowerPoint etc.)
  • Ability to communicate at all levels effectively
  • Proactive approach to problem solving
  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • Good organisational skills
  • Team player with the ability to self-motivate and work well alone
