Location: Bolton

Our Client is a £160 million business which supplies cake and desserts in own brand to the Major Multiples. There are two sites in the North West at Bolton and Oldham. The Bolton site manufactures more commodity-based products making for example slab cakes, and unit cake for a variety of retailers including many major supermarkets and also features some brand products.

The success of our client has further been recognised both by its peers and within its sector by being awarded a variety of awards including the Bakery Food Manufacturer of the year.

This is an exciting time of growth for our client, and are they are now recruiting a number of skilled operators to join their team.

Roles Include:

Machine Minders

Duties include:

Maintaining the constant production flow through continuous maintenance and monitoring the
machinery on the plant.

Process control.
Taking full ownership for machinery and the changeover of associated machinery
Producing with the production of quality products within the remit of the technical specification
Maintain a continuous flow of production through continuous supply of raw materials, work in progress or packaging
Responsible for completing all relevant paperwork with 100% accuracy
Confidently use the SAP system as required by your tech op or team manager
Ensure excellent GMP standards, Hygiene standards, Housekeeping practices, Clean as you Go
This is a physical role and involves tasks such as pushing, pulling, confined spaces, lifting, grip, working at height and full training will be provided
Banding/Spreading/Masking Cakes

Duties include:

Finishing cakes professionally
Work consistently to make every cake look delicious
Dexterity and a good eye for detail is important
Able to train new starters to a high standard
Ensure excellent GMP standards hygiene standards housekeeping practicesclean as you go
communications with the rest of the team
Good banding/spreading/maskers can progress to technical operators,
machine minders or develop into manager roles
Candidates must be able to demonstrate:

Good food factory experience
Must be available to work our permanent afternoon shift
Great communication skills
The ability to work in a team
A positive attitude towards learning and development
