Job title: Local delivery driver
Location: Wakefield
Pay rate: £19,000 per annum

Hours: Full time permanent 08:30 – 17:30Monday to Friday (Lunch: 30 minutes) Every other Saturday 09.00 to 13.00

You must be a great communicator with a friendly outgoing personality and enjoy dealing with customers.
Roles and responsibilities include but are not exclusive to;
- Making parts deliveries to local garages keeping to the daily delivery schedule
- Interacting with customers keeping them up to date with current special offers / promotions, and supplying feedback to the sales staff on competitors offers and potential issues
- Completing company paperwork neatly and accurately, including but not limited to: drivers log sheet
- Cash handling
- Preparing my deliveries by accurately checking off the customers parts to invoices taking care to note the complete part number including any prefix or suffix
Other duties when not driving may include but are not limited to:
- Ensuring there are sufficient levels of shredded card and paper for packaging purposes
- Picking orders from invoices and sales orders
- Packing parcels / pallets from invoices – checking part numbers (the full number including and prefix or suffix) and quantities then using the correct packaging for the task including shrink wrap an banding for pallets
- Signing for deliveries, ensuring that the correct amount of parcels have been delivered and reporting any discrepancies including damages to the courier marking paperwork accordingly
- Checking off deliveries to delivery notes and informing supervisor of any discrepancies
- Re-labelling and repacking stock
- Putting away stock ensuring stock is rotated and located in the correct bin
- Maintaining locations including tidying shelves and re-locating parts that have outgrown the existing location or no longer need as much space
- Accurately labelling of parcels prior to despatch with courier
- General housekeeping including but not limited to, Sweeping up, emptying bins reporting damages to the warehouse manager
- Taking part in annual stock check
The ideal candidate:
- Outgoing, friendly personality with good people skills
- Numerate (you will be required to handle cash giving correct change) with an understanding of metric weights and dimensions
- Ability to work as part of a team but must possess the drive to work on their own initiative
- Good use of lifting and handling techniques
- Fit and healthy as the job requires applicants to be active for long periods of the day
- Excellent time keeper
- Responsible
- Hard worker
- Flexible, (duties may be added to and/or developed as the business grows)
- Full, clean driving license is essential
- Well spoken, good use of spoken and written English is essential
