The Black Swan hotel is an individually owned property in the heart of the Eden Valley, Lake District, Cumbria. It operates as a 4 star, 2 AA rosette pub/restaurant with 16 bedrooms & is open all year round, 7 days a week.  This is a busy operation with a good local & national reputation and we pride ourselves on employing staff with individual personalities that work well within a close team.

We currently have availability for 2 kitchen porters to join our small but talented kitchen brigade. Head chef Scott Fairweather leads a team of 7 young chefs & is looking for a further 2 kitchen assistants to help with the day to day running of the business & kitchen areas. The main responsibilities will include, operating pot-washing machinery, sweeping and mopping floors and disposing of kitchen waste, completing daily & weekly cleaning tasks as well as helping with food preperation for service.

The ideal candidate must……

Have the ability to work under pressure both individually and as part of a team.

Have good communication skills, be easily approachable & have a calm personality Be able to use their initiative and have a positive mindset towards work Be willing to take on extra responsibility in order for the business to develop & improve further.

This is the perfect job role for somebody either looking for part time working hours, seasonal work, a full time role without stressful responsibility, or a candidate looking to join a forward thinking team with opportunities to progress onto a chef role in the future. No experience is needed & all of the required training will be given on site by Scott himself & his qualified staff.

WORKING HOURS…                    Flexible, full & part time available, split or straight shifts, mornings or evenings, all to be discussed on interview.

ACCOMMODATION…                We have staff accommodation available in shared houses, 3 minutes walk from the hotel, at the cost of £100 per month + bills

WAGE…                                                 Very much dependant on age & experience, hourly rate UP TO £8.50 per hour, salaries to be discussed for the right candidate
