Our Client is a £160 million business which supplies cake and desserts in own brand to the Major Multiples. There are two sites in the North West at Bolton and Oldham. The Bolton site manufactures more commodity-based products making for example slab cakes, and unit cake for a variety of retailers including many major supermarkets and also features some brand products.

Manage all activities to ensure a safe and secure working environment
Maintain stock levels of chemicals, cleaning equipment and sundries
Complete necessary paperwork and systems for daily, weekly and monthly schedules – be able to demonstrate this to third party auditors
Ensure all equipment, machinery parts, etc have a written cleaning procedure and on the cleaning schedule.
Complete and sign off action points raised in GMP and Pest Control audits.
Manage and develop the site hygiene management system ensuring that all documentation is available and effectively communicated
Ensure that acceptable standard of hygiene and GMP are maintained
Manage the action plans required to fully comply with hygiene related codes of practice and BRC standards
Manage the laundry contract to ensure that an effective service is provided within budget
Liaise with the operations and planning teams to ensure that hygiene schedules are effectively achieved and maintained
Manage specific foreign body cleaning following all incidents and high risk
engineering work including cleaning of new equipment
Maintain appropriate hygiene records for training staff, daily, weekly and periodic swabs, chemical strength training and investigations of swab results
Ensure that trends are identified and using root cause analysis, identify areas for improvement and corrective actions
People management experience with 5 years as a hygiene manager
IT proficient and numerate,
in particular excellent budgetary control and stock management
FMCG/food manufacturing experience
Chemical handling including training
Pest control and awareness including training
A team player who can work well with people in all departments and all levels
A motivated, determined and enthusiastic individual with team building qualities
