Head of Sales & Marketing

This is a unique opportunity to run, manage and develop the marketing and sales operations for a leading international not-for-profit research organisation based in London. With placements in over 50 countries, Frontier conducts vital projects around the world in environmental research, ecosystem services, sustainable livelihoods and community development. You will be responsible for delivering impactful digital and direct marketing activities across all company platforms and channels.

You will help develop greater coherence across communications channels and work to expand the reach of the company content and image. You will be expected to maintain and develop audiences on social, email and web, as well as connect with PR and online influencers. You will also ensure that the right content is created to increase engagement and are growing the right audiences to achieve agreed objectives. As Head of Sales, you will be responsible for the day to day management of a small team of travel consultants and be a motivating, target driven and natural leader with excellent knowledge of the travel industry.

Duties Will Include:

  • Managing, monitoring and developing our AdWords campaigns
  • Developing, monitoring and assessing a range of affiliate and directory advertising platforms
  • Negotiating costs and advertising packages with existing and new channels
  • Offering strategic direction and guidance to junior marketing staff and interns
  • Weekly and monthly statistical reporting to other senior staff on all marketing and sales operations, including ROI, budgeting and development
  • Liaising with web and database developers to ensure development and continuity of the company’s websites
  • Ensuring Frontier’s brand recognition and online reputation
  • Identifying and exploring new areas for promotion and marketing of Frontier’s opportunities
  • Overseeing the strategy and process development for Frontier’s events and outreach department
  • Maintaining Frontier’s IT systems with help from a third party support company
  • Analysing the data from the various ways in which prospective volunteers apply to go on Frontier projects and responding swiftly and appropriately to maximise take up
  • Increasing both the number of people engaged and the number of new volunteers recruited by developing suitable strategies for the optimal exploitation of sales leads
  • Achieving specified sales conversion targets
  • Maintaining and developing relations with existing and new volunteers with suitable content and using ethical sales methods to optimise quality of service and volunteer satisfaction;
  • Providing comprehensive, accurate and up to date marketing information on the projects
  • Finding innovative ways of increasing website traffic to all Frontier sites, focusing on improving existing channels and finding cost-effective new methods of attracting volunteers
