Graphic Designer & Digital Communications Assistant
Salary Range: £19,097- £23,601Hours: Full time (whole year)

Job purpose:

  • To raise the School’s profile through high quality and timely digital communications to a variety of stakeholders (current and future students, parents, staff, governors and members of the local and wider communities).
  • To publicise and celebrate school events, both inside and beyond the school day.
  • To update the School’s website.
  • To maximise the effective use of social media.
  • To increase the School’s profile in the local press.

Responsibilities:

  • To be the main port of call for all digital communications, raising awareness of and publicising School events.
  • Liaise with staff in order to collate information to be communicated digitally.
  • Liaise with staff to arrange to take high quality photos and/or videos of school events that can be used within a variety of digital communications.
  • Be the first point of contact for all newsworthy items and events.
  • Assist staff with the provision of digital technology facilities for school events.
  • Assist the PA and School Charity trustees in marketing their events.
  • Attend School events including: Year 7 and Year 12 open evenings, GCSE and A-level presentation evenings, drama production, music concerts, dance showcase.
  • Attend GCSE and A-level results days.
  • Edit and produce high quality audio visual materials used for display and presentations.
  • Co-ordinate and assist in the design, production and distribution of promotional material.
  • Have a good understanding of software packages including, Microsoft office, Adobe CS4 Master Collection (including Photoshop) & Pinnacle.
  • Edit and distribute news releases, fostering good relations and obtaining positive media coverage, working in conjunction with the relevant teams within school.
  • Advise the Digital Technologies Systems Manager regarding current and future resources.

Main duties

  • Ensure correct permissions are gained from parents for use of students in promotional materials, including compliance with GDPR.
  • Regularly update the school website.
  • Organise recent photographic records, to create a gallery to showcase events
  • Regularly use the School’s social media accounts to advertise and celebrate School events.
  • Regularly update the within-school digital notice boards.
  • Produce and circulate the weekly parents’ bulletin.
  • Produce half-termly newsletters.
  • Work with the Senior Leadership Team to produce the School Digital prospectus and update this annually.
  • Support the School transition work through provision of digital communication materials.
  • Generate materials for corridor displays working with the appropriate member of staff.
  • When required, provide technical support to staff and students in the use of digital technologies.
