Garden Designer

Job Title: Garden Designer.

Location: Denham, Middlesex.

Hours: Minimum of 5 days per week with 9 hours per day, including some Saturdays for design consultations and/or site visits. Working for home for some of the week will be considered.

Salary: £24,500 – £32,000 per annum, dependent on experience, qualifications, and knowledge of plants and garden design. plus, an opportunity to earn bonus based on achieving sales targets.

Our client is an award-winning specialist plant nursery which also specialises in designing, building, and maintaining high end private and commercial outside spaces.

An exciting opportunity has opened for an experienced, self-motivated, Garden Designer.

All candidates wishing to apply must have the following:

  • A degree or diploma in Landscape Architecture or Garden Design
  • Proven experience (at least 2 years) in commercial or complex residential garden design
  • Excellent knowledge and experience with garden design packages (Vector works, Sketch-up, InDesign)
  • Excellent plant knowledge
  • A demonstrably high level of design skill
  • Excellent communication and coordination skills
  • Ability to manage projects, creation of tender packages and deal with clients, consultants, and contractors.
  • Have a clean UK driving license

Role and responsibilities:

  • To lead the design department
  • Attend prospective client meetings (site visits)
  • Develop mood boards and concept drawings.
  • Produce designs of gardens and outdoor spaces to a high standard.
  • Produce imaginative plant designs.
  • Source materials, place and manage orders and suppliers.
  • Produce and manage quotes.
  • Manage and care for plant stock.
  • General office administration.
