Electrical Maintenance Engineer

Location: Wolverhampton

Salary: £30,000 PA

The Client

Our client is a well established Polythene Recycling, Polythene Film Extrusion and Polythene Film Conversion services provider. They operate from a large manufacturing facility based in Wolverhampton. We are now seeking a qualified Electrical Maintenance Engineer to work as part of a team to maintain the plant machinery. The plant is equipped with market leading machinery and technology, which requires regular maintenance to ensure the operation, continues without interruption.

The Role

The core areas of the position include: 

•        Ensure the safe and effective running of the manufacturing areas
•        Respond to breakdowns and implement repairs
•        Work through a Planned and Preventative Maintenance regime, ensuring that issues are dealt with before they become problems
•        Be able to order components and consumables from established suppliers
•        Work closely with the mechanical team to provide the electrical expertise on the plant and equipment
•        Assist with any electrical needs for the fabric of the buildings on site
•        Be happy to research any areas necessary to complete repairs or upgrades
•        Be part of the installation team on new machinery, ensuring the effective installation and trials

Typical equipment includes:
•        Polythene Extrusion machines
•        Polythene Conversion lines
•        AC drives
•        Materials handling equipment and controls (conveyors / hoppers / chutes etc.)
•        Packaging lines
•        Separation equipment
•        Controls (predominantly Siemens S5 & S6 PLC)

The skills and type of person you are looking for:
•        Recognized industry qualifications, including 17th Edition
•        Experience within industrial electrical engineering (maintenance)
•        Proven experience on automated equipment
•        An ability to read and understand engineering drawings
•        An ability to work with the usual Microsoft Office suite of programs (Excel / Word / Email etc.)
•        Good computing skills, as a lot of machine history is stored in this format
•        An ability to work at height occasionally
•        Some mechanical skills to compliment your electrical knowledge
•        Good interpersonal skills and the ability to work with the mechanical team, the shop floor staff
•        Solid Health & Safety knowledge and a safe manner of working
•        A fork lift license, would be useful but not a pre-requisite, as would experience of using overhead cranes
