A fantastic opportunity working as an E-commerce Sales & Purchasing Manager has arisen, due to need to concentrate more on  internet selling. They are looking for someone experienced and ready to join a small team of people committed to great customer service. They are offering a great starting salary of £18,000, increasing up to £22,000, with a 40 hour working week, with days to be agreed.

E-commerce Sales Duties:

  • Day to day maintenance and operation of company websites
  • Manage the online product catalogue, updating and removing products as required
  • Add new products to the website, with good content, data and images to generate sales
  • Work alongside the Product Manager to source images and data from suppliers
  • Ensure maximum visibility across all sales platforms
  • Analyse product pricing and competitors, managing the Pricetrakker system to increase sales
  • Monitor daily product feed accuracy on search engines and market places
  • Verify affiliate reports on e-commerce activity to facilitate business decisions
  • Work within the e-commerce function as a team member, not limiting work to particular disciplines
  • Display an open approach to learning new skills within e-commerce, including pay-per-click advertising and analytics

Purchasing Manager Duties:

  • Ensure competition in the market place and report on trends
  • Analyse market results to recommend improvements and suggest new strategies
  • Control the inventory of stock by identifying, reducing and eliminating slow moving stock
  • Streamline the variety of stock held
  • Determine the cost and profitability of the stockholdings
  • Determine when products are to be recommended for discontinuation
  • Manage the performance of suppliers and ensure that goods are delivered on time
  • Place orders with suppliers, updating all data aspects of the supply chain, including order confirmations, expected delivery dates etc.
  • Carryout price comparisons with alternate suppliers and prepare costs on potential savings
  • Plan obsolescence of stock
  • Monitor and report on clearance stock
  • Monitor stock turnover and ensure that the right mix of products are in stock
  • Liaise with suppliers regarding the return of stock and ensure all supplier debit notes are received in a timely manner
  • Constantly question current practices, identifying opportunities for improvement
  • Implement improvement changes in liaison with the Managers
  • Overseeing the running of the shop

Candidate specification for the role of E-commerce Sales & Purchasing Manager:

  • Ability to manage a small team of people independently
  • Experience in e-commerce, ideally ebay, internet selling
  • Supply chain experience, ideally demand planning related
  • Good organisational skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively in both verbal and written forms
  • Team player
  • Knowledge and/or interest of boats, desirable
