We are looking for a Chartered Quantity Surveyor with experience in a variety of residential and commercial projects to join our growing company.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Include but not be limited to:-

  • Provide advice onup to date market rates in respect of project costs
  • Prepare feasibility studies, preliminary estimates, cost plans, cost reports, and other analysis and advise
  • Provide contract advise on JCT and NEC contract suites
  • Undertake analysis and appraisal of tender submissions,and cost reviews
  • Prepare tender documentation, Schedules of Work, and Bills of Quantities using various forms of measurement /Contracts
  • Act as Contract Administrator to fulfil both pre-andpost-contract roles
  • Produce financial reports and monitoring of actual and anticipated expenditure against cashflow forecasts
  • Carry out duties appropriate to the grade and Chartered nature of the post
  • Support and promote growth of the business, networking with existing and potential new Clients as and when required
  • Ability and experience of acting as Employer’s Agent

TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:

Essential attributes:

  • Degree educated in Quantity Surveying or similar relevant qualification
  • Member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors
  • Good general understanding and experience of delivering PQS services on a range of building projects for clients in the public and private sector
  • Excellent working knowledge of contracts and procurement strategies, including contract administration of JCT forms of contract and experience in all pre/ post Contract Administration duties
  • Experienced in Cost Consultancy roles, such as cost forecasting / reporting, cost control, cost risk management etc
  • Excellent construction technology knowledge
  • Great communications skills and be comfortable liaising with clients directly and building strong working relationships
  • Good commercial awareness
  • Experience of industry package software – BCIS, NBS, JCT suite of contracts
  • Ability to act on own initiative
